Patient Cart Stabilization System
A stable operating platform is the core upon which surgical robotics must be built. Uneven floors, external loads and the accidental bump pose a significant danger to the patient. I developed and oversaw the implementation of a highly capable stabilization system for the Vera 1 Surgical Robot
Surgical Camera & Instruments Manual Extraction
The risk of certain failure modes always exists in the medical device industry while patient safety remains paramount. I was able to lead this project which required implementing a manual override to ensure quick release of a patient in the case of an emergency.
Camera Thermals Solution
Vicarious Surgical's camera system presents the user with a high quality stereoscopic image of the target anatomy. Sensors and LEDs within the camera system inherently generate lots of heat, which could be harmful to a patient if not managed properly.

Cable-driven robotic medical device technology requires precise controls and positioning capabilities. Selecting the correct material, braid and processing method for drive cables is a critical task.
Drape Plate Electrical Connection
Preserving sterility in the operating environment is a foremost priority. The drape system is responsible for creating a physical barrier between capital and disposable equipment while facilitating electrical and mechanical connections.
